Debit
A Debit is a transaction type used to charge the customer for a payment. It represents a customer-to-merchant payment where funds are collected through the configured payment provider.
Use Debit when the customer should be charged as part of the payment flow.
How debit works
A debit is created through the configured channel and processed by the connected payment provider.
A typical debit flow includes these steps:
- The customer starts a payment.
- Dinape creates a debit transaction for the selected channel.
- The connected payment provider processes the payment.
- Dinape receives the provider result.
- The transaction status is updated in Dinape.
- The transaction can be reviewed in Transactions.
The exact flow depends on the payment method and provider.
When to use debit
Use Debit for payment flows where the customer should be charged directly.
Debit can be used when:
- the payment method supports direct charging
- the channel has the required provider configuration
- the customer completes the required payment steps
- the payment should be collected through the selected payment provider
